8th May 2018

In preparation for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) taking effect Friday 25th May 2018, we’ve made changes to our sales process for new applications:

Updated Privacy Notice

The client Privacy Notice will be updated to ensure the content is compliant and conforms to the new regulation and is easier to understand.

The notice will continue to form part of the Important Customer Information (ICI) document which has been updated and made available for you to download from our intermediary website.

When placing an application with us, it is your responsibility to ensure your client has been provided with the ICI document at the start of the application process, and the client’s responsibility to share a copy with any absent parties.

To remind you of this, an on-screen prompt has been added to the One Minute Mortgage online system which will be presented to you when starting a new application.

As a result of the changes to the Privacy Notice, we have been able to remove some wording from the online system. The client declarations on the decision in principle and full application submission screens, which contained wording around consent to carry out credit reference agency searches, is no longer required as it is now covered within the Privacy Notice.

Marketing Preferences

You will no longer be asked to specify your client’s marketing preferences when submitting an application. The existing marketing preference data-capture fields within the customer details screen have been removed from the online system.

Any applications in progress can be continued to full submission, however any marketing preference information captured within the application will not be used by BM Solutions or Lloyds Banking Group.
